Apparel Manufacturing FAQ
Getting Started
2Choose the right route and prepare a useful project brief
Which Xtextile route is right for my project?
Custom Production is for garments developed around your specifications. Custom Blanks starts from established premium silhouettes that are manufactured and customized for your brand. XBLANKS is the ready-stock route for retail purchases or wholesale orders.
How do I start a project with Xtextile?
Submit the project form with your product, estimated quantity, destination, target date and available references. Once the brief is complete, our commercial target is to prepare the quotation or next-step response within 24 business hours.
MOQ & Pricing
2Commercial thresholds and the variables behind a quote
What are the minimum order quantities and how is pricing determined?
Custom Production: official MOQ of 100 units per style or model. Basic T-shirts and similar products may be reviewed from 50–99 units. Custom Blanks: from 50 units per model. Pima cotton: from 1,200 units, with a possible split into up to two colors after review. XBLANKS: retail from 1 unit and wholesale pricing from 25 total units. Pricing depends on product, fabric, quantity, decoration, labels, packaging and delivery requirements.
How are payment and reorders handled?
A sale is confirmed with a 60% advance payment; the remaining balance follows the commercial terms confirmed for the project. Reorders can reuse prior project information, but fabric, trims, quantities, pricing and delivery dates are reviewed again before confirmation.
Production & Approval
2Development, samples and confirmed production schedules
How long will my project take?
There is no single lead time for every project. Timing depends on development and sample approval, fabric and trim availability, construction complexity, quantity, current capacity and destination. Xtextile confirms the project schedule in writing before production begins.
Do I need a tech pack, and how does sample approval work?
A tech pack is helpful but not always mandatory. References, mockups and clear measurements can be used to define the development scope. When a sample is required, its cost and timing are confirmed for the project, and bulk production begins only after the agreed approval checkpoint.
Shipping & Import
1Worldwide delivery, duties and destination responsibilities
Where do you ship, and who pays duties and taxes?
Xtextile manufactures in Peru and can prepare orders for international delivery. Freight, insurance, duties, taxes and import responsibilities depend on the destination and the commercial terms confirmed in the quotation; they should not be assumed to be included unless stated in writing.
Quality
2Approval checkpoints and production controls
How does Xtextile control quality?
Quality is managed through defined checkpoints: approved product specifications, construction and measurement review, decoration and finishing review, and final preparation before dispatch. The exact controls are matched to the product and confirmed project scope.
Can I approve a sample before bulk production?
Yes, when sampling is part of the agreed route. The sample is used to review fit, construction, materials and branding details before bulk production. Any changes after approval can affect cost and timing and must be reviewed in writing.
Custom Blanks & XBLANKS
1Understand the made-to-order and ready-stock routes
What is the difference between Custom Blanks and XBLANKS?
Custom Blanks are manufactured to order from proven silhouettes and can include your printing, embroidery, labels and packaging, starting from 50 units per model. XBLANKS are ready-stock premium blanks sold at retail from 1 unit, with wholesale pricing from 25 total units.
